I encourage patients to come regularly for dental checkups and maintain what they have. Maintenance is key to keep what they have in good condition. We’re here to help you with your oral health. That applies to teeth, gum, soft tissues, your joints, doing oral cancer screenings, and doing preventative care. Beyond that, sometimes we cannot salvage a tooth, either because the patient presented to us a little too late in the process, things have already deteriorated. There’s gum infections, abscesses, or fractured teeth, and we can’t use our regular dental techniques and treatments to salvage that tooth, and that’s when you need an extraction, and this could apply to your front tooth or your back tooth. I just want to reassure you that we are fully equipped to handle all that.
Over these last two decades of being a dentist in my own practices, and developing the practices and the staff, we are totally equipped to provide you that. We will handhold you and walk you through the whole procedure. Rest assured, we’ll do a good job. We’ll make sure that you walk out looking socially acceptable and functioning well, and we give you a lot of interim prosthetic options. It could be a stayplate. It could be an Essix retainer with a tooth in there. It could be a temporary bridge. It could be an immediate interim abutment on an implant and a temporary crown. So we have the technology to extract the front tooth, put an implant in, and put an interim abutment and a temporary crown, and out walks the patient looking like nothing happened, and we’ve had good success with it.
